SPRYNET Extends Internet Access Capability To The Microsoft Windows CE Operating System

BELLEVUE, Wash. — June 16, 1997 — Giving customers a unified connection to the Internet on both their desktop and handheld PC devices, SPRYNET announced today a version of the award winning Internet service for the Microsoft Windows CE operating system. A companion product for customers running SPRYNET for Windows 95, the new Windows CE version works with a user's desktop software so they can stay in touch when away from their desk. SPRYNET for Windows CE, available this month, lets customers create an account, easily transfer it to a Windows CE-based device and automatically configure mail, preferences and Microsoft Pocket Internet Explorer in one control panel.

"SPRYNET for Windows CE gives our customers the convenience of using the same Internet service provider on their desktop and hand-held computer," said Stuart White, vice president and general manager for CompuServe's SPRYNET division. "We're committed to providing support for open standards and platforms and want to extend our award-winning ISP service for our customers use 3/4 whether in the office, home or somewhere in between."

A dedicated Web site at http://hpc.sprynet.com will be available for customers of SPRYNET for Windows CE offering tips, software and customized support for the platform.
