SystemSoft Develops PCMCIA Software for Cirrus Logic Chips
NATICK, Mass. — October 5, 1992 — SystemSoft Corp. today announced that it has added support for the Cirrus Logic Inc., CL-PD6710 and CL-PD6720 PCMCIA Host Adapters in its PCMCIA 2.0 Software Offerings.
The new software conforms to the hardware-dependent Socket Services layer of the Personal Computer Memory Card International Association (PCMCIA) architecture.
''This is an important software strategy,'' said Ed McKernan, Product Line Manager of SystemSoft, ''because it will accelerate the acceptance of the PCMCIA peripheral standard and create a robust host system environment. We recognize that our customers benefit most from industry standardization and support for such leadership products as the Cirrus Logic host adapters, and are committed to providing those benefits.''
The PCMCIA Socket Services software for the Cirrus Logic Host Adapters will be available in Q4 1992. The Card Services portion of PCMCIA, which is designed to be modular and independent of Socket Services will also be available in Q4 1992. Socket Services is priced at $2.00; Card Services is priced at $5.35.
