University of California Santa Cruz Extension to Offer Outstanding Computer Science Courses in January

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — December 8, 1992 — University of California Santa Cruz Extension will offer a wide variety of exceptional computer science courses in January 1993.

All courses are held at UC Extension, 3120 De la Cruz Blvd.

(Trimble at 101) in Santa Clara.

Connecting, Configuring and Using Your PC Modem is Jan. 9. On Jan. 11, PenPoint Programming, X-Windows and Motif Intensive: A Hands-On Workshop, and Introduction to UNIX will begin.

Computer/Data Networks begins on Jan 12, and this course carries graduate-level credit from UCSC's Department of Computer Engineering. Introduction to Data Communications also meets for the first time on Jan. 12. And on Jan. 25, a class in C Language Programming starts.

Two courses that are part of the Certificate Program in Software Engineering also begin in January. Building an Effective Software Development Organization is Jan. 12, and Principles of Software Engineering starts on Jan. 14.

Two classes in multimedia technology are both scheduled for Jan. 30: Fundamentals of Video Technology and Doing Business in the Emerging Multimedia Industry.

Courses are offered in both day and evening formats to meet the needs of the working professional, and they are offered in either short formats or as quarter length courses. Some are hands-on in UC Extension's state-of-the-art computer labs. All are taught by outstanding professionals in the field.
