Xplore Technologies Licenses Communication Intelligence Corp.’s Handwriting Recognition Software
AUSTIN, Texas — July 22, 1997 — Xplore Technologies Corp. ("Xplore")(Alberta Stock Exchange: XPL) Tuesday announced that it is now bundling Communication Intelligence Corp. (NASDAQ:CICI) CIC's Handwriter(R) recognition system (HRS) with its GeneSys P133 field computing system.
Xplore joins a growing list of leading manufacturers of pen computer products endorsing CIC's HRS as an industry standard on the Windows platform.
Xplore's GeneSys Pen-based Computer is part of a comprehensive ruggedized, mobile system targeted primarily at the utility and public safety markets. This highly integrated system offers a technologically advanced Pentium(TM) Pen/Touch Tablet computer, an "Xpod" communications expansion module, a family of unique Docking Systems and Customer Support Services. Using the desktop power of the GeneSys P133, field workers reduce the time spent updating and maintaining manual records, which allows them to focus on completing job functions while remaining mobile and accessible to customers and dispatch centers.
