Wacom Licenses CIC’s Handwriter for Windows in Japan

June 21, 1993 — Communication Intelligence Corporation (CIC) (NASDAQ:CICI) Monday announced that Wacom Company Ltd. in Japan has signed a license agreement for CIC’s Handwriter Recognition System (HRS) software for the Microsoft Windows for Pen Computing operating system.

CIC’s Handwriter Recognition System software, combined with Microsoft Windows for Pen Computing, allows Wacom to immediately offer its customers a pen computing solution.

CIC’s Handwriter Recognition System software recognizes handwritten input on pen-based computers. Available for English (US and UK), German, French, Italian, Spanish, and Japanese languages, Handwriter Recognition System software provides consistently high recognition performance across multiple standard operating systems, including CIC’s own PenDOS and PenMac pen operating environments as well as Microsoft Windows for Pen Computing.

Handwriter Recognition System for Microsoft Windows for Pen Computing is available through CIC to end-user accounts, and is shipping to CIC licensees such as NCR Corp., NEC Corp., Samsung Electronic Corp., and now Wacom.
