Traveling Software intros PenConnect

Traveling Software, the Bothell, Washington, company that’s established itself as a leader in portable-to-desktop connectivity, recently introduced PenConnect, a program that enables portable computers to share their desktop counterpart’s hard disk. PenConnect is a client/server-based program designed to make the drives of the server computer appear as additional drives on the client.

Instead of transferring files between the portable and desktop PC, you can simply access the desktop storage system. PenConnect’s underlying technology is Traveling Software’s Universal Communications Object, also known as Blackbird (for more details, see “Is There A Blackbird In Your Future?” in our August, 1991 issue). PenConnect is currently available only to OEM customers; Poqet with its new PoqetPad is the first licensee.
