Citing problems resulting from miscommunication and delayed orders, Caligor Medical has turned to RAM Mobile Data as a way to get an edge on its competitors and better serve its healthcare supplies customers. Caligor operates in the northeastern United States where laptop-equipped sales personnel generally take orders in clinics, hospitals, and doctors’ offices. Because of spiralling healthcare-related costs, many hospitals are turning to a just-in-time order schedule, permitting them to reduce both inventory and costs.
For Caligor, this has meant the adoption of a wide area wireless data system, enabling sales reps to have real-time access to medical supply inventories, along with the status of outstanding orders. Using the local processing power of the computer gives the sales people additional leverage by being able to analyze customer usage patterns together with other relevant customer information. The result: Caligor believes that extra information leads to additional sales.
When an order is completed, it is transmitted directly to the company’s shipping department and quickly readied for delivery. Faster order completion also enables sales reps to visit more clients on any given day.
