History

The MacMillan Plus Pack for PalmPilot is a retail software bundle published by Macmillan Digital Publishing USA in 1997 for the PalmPilot family of connected organizers.1 The package was sold under the tagline "Killer Software For Your Connected Organizer," and its cover noted that the software also worked with the earlier Pilot 1000 and Pilot 5000 organizers.1

The cover grouped the bundle's contents into six categories: a financial calculator, e-mail messaging, game play, a language translator, an electronic note pad, and print enhancements.1 Among the bundled titles was GolfTrac, a golf application promoted on the package's back panel.1

The product carried a 1997 copyright of Macmillan Digital Publishing USA, located at 201 West 103rd Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, and was assigned the ISBN 0-7897-1359-4.1

The Plus Pack was distributed on CD-ROM and required an IBM-compatible PC running Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0, with SVGA 256-color graphics and a Windows-compatible mouse or other pointing device.1 On the handheld side it supported the Pilot 1000 and Pilot 5000, the PalmPilot, and the PalmPilot Professional.1
