History

The Worldwide PenPoint Developers Organization (WPDO) was an independent nonprofit organization that served the needs of PenPoint developers by providing information, networking opportunities, and representation.1 This 1993 flyer describes the WPDO as operating through affiliate chapters located throughout the world.1

Membership benefits advertised on the flyer included monthly meetings, video tapes and overhead slides of those meetings, newsletters, and developer workshops.1 The organization also ran an online bulletin board system offering sample code, developer tools, newsletter back issues, a registry of members, classified ads, electronic mail, and discussion forums.1 Video tapes of meetings and workshops were made available to members for rental and purchase.1

The flyer lists five chapters: an International and Silicon Valley chapter in the United States, along with chapters in Boston, New York City, St. Louis, and Waterloo, Canada.1 For the Silicon Valley chapter, membership was offered at both individual and corporate levels, with corporate membership including one individual membership and a discount on additional memberships for employees of the member company.1
