Apple Computer, Inc.
In return for his contributions to the first version of the Macintosh Finder and as the lead engineer responsible for the Newton software, Apple has appointed Steve P. Capps to be an Apple Fellow.
An Apple Fellow is a senior research position that recognizes outstanding technical contributions to computing.
McCaw Cellular Communications, Inc.
The leading U.S. cellular service provider, named Rob Mechaley as the company’s senior vice president and Chief Scientist. Formerly, Mr. Mechaley was senior vice president and general manager of McCaw’s Wireless Data Division.
Taking over as general manager and vice president is Kendra VanderMuelen.
AST Research, Inc.
Roger F. (Rod) Rodericks has been appointed vice president of AST Europe Ltd. Prior to his appointment, Rodericks was managing director of AST Europe since 1990.
Roderick reports directly to AST’s president and COO Jim Schraith and will establish strategic directions of AST in Europe.
