Phoenix Technologies Ltd.—The leading system-level firmware developer has announced that Tom Benoit has joined the company as its corporate marketing manager. Mr. Benoit will report to George Adams, vice president of marketing and business development.

Prior to joining Phoenix, Mr. Benoit was corporate marketing manager at Micronics Computers.

Apple Computer—The Cupertino-based computer manufacturer has staged a reorganization that will indirectly affect the division that produces the Newton.

Under the new scheme, David Nagel will lead the Apple Research and Development Group that includes Newton development, Apple’s Advanced Technology Group, and operating system and technology licensing. Mr. Nagel was formerly the head of the AppleSoft division.
