Developers and managers take note: the first technical conference devoted to issues surrounding PDA software development has been set for mid-summer. The conference, formally known as PDA Developers East ’95, is scheduled for August 6 and 7, and will conveniently precede the Boston MacWorld Expo.
The conference—sponsored and organized by Creative Digital Inc., publishers of PDA Developers magazine—is an intense technical forum that should provide PDA developers with:
- an in-depth technical understanding of popular handheld platforms and their development environments
- a broad overview of third-party PDA development tools and products
- information about wireless technologies and service providers, including those looking for development partners
- an early glimpse of exciting new technologies that will influence the PDA market
The conference will feature a set of four-hour tutorials on developing for the Apple Newton, Psion, Geoworks, and General Magic platforms. Each tutorial will partition into introductory and advanced sections, enabling developers to attend a technically concentrated session that properly matches their current understanding of the platform.
PDA Developers East ’95 will also feature a number of keynote speakers including David Elder, president of Psion, Gordon Mayer, president and CEO of Geoworks, and Jean Belanger, chairman of Metrowerks. Registration fees start at $325 for both days, including breakfast and lunch. The conference will be held at the Tara Sheraton Hotel in Framingham, MA.
