Symbol Technology—The Bohemia, NY-based manufacturer of pen-based computers and bar code transaction systems announced that Dr. Satya Sharma will assume the position of senior vice president of management processes and quality improvement.
Dr. Sharma was formerly with AT&T’s Power Systems business unit.
U.S. Robotics—Former CFO, Ross W. Manire, has been promoted to the position of senior vice president and general manager of the Corporate/Systems Division. In addition to CFO, Manire also served as senior vice president, Operations at the Skokie, Illinois manufacturer of data modems.
Air Communications—The Sunnyvale, California-based developer of cellular data technology announced that Dan H. Seale has joined the company as president and CEO. Prior to joining Air Communications, Seale was senior vice president at Advanced Wireless Communications.
Sierra Wireless Inc.—The manufacturer of wireless CDPD modems announced that David B. Sutcliffe has joined the company as president and CEO. Sutcliffe previously served as president and CEO of Xillix Technologies Corp., and vice president and business unit manager at Motorola’s mobile data division.
