Telxon Corporation—The maker of pen-based data-input systems announced that William J. Murphy has been named president and chief operating officer of Telxon’s North American division, was also elected to the company’s board of directors.

Telxon remained busy by also electing John H. Cribb, president of Telxon’s International division, to the board where he will serve as the vice-chairman.

Solectek Corporation—The San Diego-based manufacturer of campus area wireless network hardware announced the addition of Thomas J. Bernard to the company’s board of directors.

Mr. Bernard was formerly senior vice president of QUALCOMM Corporation and general manager of its OmniTRACS division.

Data Race, Inc.—The PCMCIA and communications developer has named Gregory T. Skalla to assume the post of chief financial officer. Mr. Skalla replaces Steven W. Riebel who has left the company to join ATX Research, Inc. in San Antonio.

Geoworks—The Alameda, California-based developer of the GEOS operating system has named Craig Taylor as vice president of engineering. Mr. Taylor, formerly at EO, Inc. and GO Corp., will be responsible for continued development of the GEOS operating system and OS customization for OEM partners.
